Was formed in April 2008, when a few disabled person`s and carers with the help of local councillors, decided to act as consultatives on disability issues, such as access on and off pavements, access to shops and public buildings, crossing roads, footpaths overgrown with hedgegrowth, we are also involved in the consultation of the  MILLOM HOSPITAL to make sure amenitities are provided for ALL types of disabilities

We meet monthly (second monday in the month..10-30am) in the NETWORK CENTRE MILLOM CUMBRIA and are now starting to raise funds to try and be self supportive, for things like stationary to write to government bodies on disability issues.

All disabled persons are welcome to our meeting, their carers, family members or friends, just use the two contact phone numbers on the (THE SCDG CONTACT INFORMATION PAGE) and all inquiries will be dealt with.

Since October 2013, we welcome another part of the Disability community, by forming "MILLOM PARENTS & CARERS DISABILITY GROUP" this has been formed by Jonathan and Mandy King, and they will cater for the 1-year to 20 year old, and provide sporty activities ....they will be self-funding, and have their own committee, we will provide an "Umbrella"safety net...

Sorting out issues as a group has more power than doing it alone, official bodies listen to organised groups, they can write to the people who are at the top...so come and be part of our group, have your say......BE  HEARD
